Time measurement presents one of the foundations of science and civilizations. Science is what enabled the measurement of time, a measurement that is the basis of all sciences. Modern society cannot exist without the exact measurement of time, and yet, time has remained an abstract concept, difficult to define, and multi - significant.
Time = past, present, future.
I therefore chose an ancient instrument for the measurement of time (the sundial), as a symbol of modern making. The idea to create a large sundial presents a significant solution (time) as well as an esthetic solution that will create continuity and connection among all sections of the balconies. Above all, the sundial especially matches the balcony that is exposed to the sun during all hours of the day. The consecutive lines of the clock are straight and with the circles will connect the entire area to one unit whose center is the sundial.
Location of the clock and its angle were designed so that it would show the time like in ancient times. The circular tiling with its warm colors was meant to emphasize the feeling of time in space.
In order to soften the vastness of the tiling, I added intimate spots of greenery to balance the large horizontal expanse.
